“Getting closer, and each day I learn something new. Lots of folks are happy this is happening. Monk and Fats Waller (who provided inspiration for two previous projects) and Europe all have Harlem relationships. But this piece is different – unlike Monk and Fats, no-one knows James Reese, so telling that story will be fun, and quite powerful. And new because everyone that hears about it is like…..Huuuuh?????”
